Cooling Tower is a system that is used to lower the temperature of water that comes from a condenser. PT PLN (Persero) Keramasan is one industry that uses the cooling tower as the cooling system water from a condenser, where the heat comes from a condenser is the result of the vapour condensation from work on the turbine. In the operation of the Freezer need the air as the media to cool off hot water, air in the cooling towers from the bottom up to the top of force due to the puli from the fan who was on the top of the cooling towers. according to data from BMKG the city of palembang on the monthly fee of temperature changes from time, so it will affect the temperature of air will be used in the process of cooling water heat. The analysis is needed in the cooling towers to know the impact of changes in temperature air of performance the cooling towers, using the parameters for calculating the temperature range, approach and effectiveness. Calculations were done based on water temperature in and out as well as tempertur the air in and out of the cooling towers. based on the results of calculations that has been done, then found that Performance of the cooling towers optimal place on the condition of the temperature air in wet bulb 34 ° C and dry bulb 39 ° C and at a temperature of air law bulb 24 ° C and dry bulb 28 ° C, while the effectiveness of the operation of more than the effectiveness of the design going on in the range of 12, 31 ° C and approach 2, 69 so that data of the effectiveness of the highest in the value of 82, 06 %. Expenses heat of the cooling towers has decreased from 47189, 111 kJ/s to 68394, 598 kJ/s under the condition of the design of 78568, 44 kJ/s, does this prove that the workload of the cooling tower the operation is less than in the design. Expenses heat of the cooling towers are affected by the discharge of water flow and temperature in the cooling towers Keywords: Cooling Tower, the rate of flow, water, air, the effectiveness, the performance of cooling tower.
