This research focuses on the social changes that occur in Pantai Harapan Village due to the expansion of the village. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study research strategy. Data was obtained from 1 key informant, 7 main informants and 5 supporting informants using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the concept of social change by Piotr Sztompka. Social change is a process of transformation that occurs in society, both gradually and quickly. These changes can include various aspects of life, such as social structure, culture, values, technology, economy, and politics. The results of the study show that there are several differences between community conditions before and after expansion. The condition of the village community before the expansion did not form close social interaction, the community was less involved in terms of public policy or planning activities Keyword: Social Change, Village Expansion, Piotr Sztompka.
