HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN DENGAN KEJADIAN INFEKSI SALURAN KEMIH PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RS MOHAMMAD HOESIN

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common complications associated with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine whether there is an association between patient characteristics specifically sex, age, and body mass index (BMI), and the incidence of urinary tract infection (UTI) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus recorded in the Medical Records Department of Mohammad Hoesin Hospital. A consecutive sampling technique was used to select the study sample. The distribution of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with UTI at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital was predominantly female, aged 40–60 years, and classified as overweight based on BMI. The findings indicate a significant association between sex and the incidence of UTI. However, no significant association was found between age group or BMI category and the incidence of UTI in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital.
