FAKTOR – FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI KEJADIAN NYERI MUSKULOSKELETAL PADA DOKTER GIGI DI KOTA PRABUMULIH

Kamaliyah, Khansa - Personal Name;

Background: Musculoskeletal pain is one of the most common occupational health problems experienced by healthcare workers, particularly dentists. In Indonesia, the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among dentists reaches 58.9%, indicating that this condition is a significant issue requiring proper attention. Various risk factors contribute to this condition, including working posture, stretching habits, duration of sitting, physical activity, Body Mass Index (BMI), sleep quality, workload, screen time, driving duration, consumption of high glycemic index foods, and sedentary lifestyle. These factors may lead to decreased physical function, reduced productivity, and impaired quality of clinical performance. Therefore, identifying the contributing factors among dentists is essential to support preventive strategies and improve occupational health. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design with an observational analytic approach. A total of 45 dentists in Prabumulih City were selected using purposive sampling. Research instruments included the Nordic Body Map (NBM), Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), International Physical Activity Questionnaire–Short Form (IPAQ-SF), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Screen Time Questionnaire (STQ), and Sedentary Behaviour Questionnaire (SBQ). Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods, and statistical associations were tested using the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between each factor and the incidence of musculoskeletal pain. Results and Conclusion: Significant relationships were found between musculoskeletal pain and working posture (p=0.033), stretching habits (p=0.000), BMI (p=0.035), physical activity (p=0.017), sleep quality (p=0.033), screen time (p=0.033), consumption of high–glycemic index foods (p=0.034), and sedentary lifestyle (p=0.023). These findings highlight the need for integrated ergonomic and lifestyle based interventions to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal pain among dentists in Prabumulih City. Keywords: Musculoskeletal Pain, Risk Factors, Dentists.
