PENILAIAN KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN TANAMAN KARET BARU (HEVEA BRASILIENSIS L.) DI PT MELANIA INDONESIA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN.
Land suitability is the level of suitability of a plot of land for certain uses. Land suitability can be viewed from environmental quality, including climate, soil, topography, and drainage. The role of land classification and evaluation can provide alternatives for determining land suitability as well as information on the relationship between land characteristics and its utilization.This research aims to assess the land suitability class for new rubber plants (Hevea brasiliensis L.) on one of PT Melania's 29 hectare lands using a survey method by taking parameters such as soil physical properties (drainage, texture, soil depth) and soil chemistry (C-organic , N-total, soil pH, P2O5, K2O and soil CEC) and climate as supporting parameter data. The research results obtained values for climate S1 (Very Suitable), drainage S3 (Not Suitable) but if improvements are made it will increase one level to S2 (Quite Suitable), texture S3 (Not Suitable) texture cannot be directly repaired and is classified as a parameter with improvements which is not easy, N-total S1 (Very Suitable), C-organic S1 (Very Suitable), soil pH S3 (Not Suitable) but if improvements are made it will increase one level to S2 (Quite Suitable), soil CEC S2 (Fairly Suitable ) becomes S1, P2O5 S3 (Not Appropriate) becomes S2 (Quite Appropriate), and K2O S3 (Not Appropriate) becomes S2 (Quite Appropriate)
