KORELASI ANTARA ALERGI TERHADAP TUNGAU DEBU RUMAH DAN CRUSTACEA SP. PADA RINITIS ALERGI ANAK DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Allergic rhinitis is one of the most common atopic diseases in children, characterized by inflammation of the nasal mucosa due to type I hypersensitivity reactions mediated by immunoglobulin E (IgE), often caused by house dust mites. Methods: This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach using medical records and laboratory data on pediatric allergic rhinitis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital in Palembang from March 2023 to September 2025. Data on specific IgE levels against house dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, D. farinae, and D. microceras) and crustacea sp. (crab, shrimp, and lobster) were analyzed using Spearman's correlation test. Results: The results showed a significant positive correlation between Dermatophagoides microceras (d4) and specific IgE to crab (f23) (r = 0.363; p = 0.007), as well as between d1 and d4 and specific IgE to shrimp (f24) (p < 0.05), and a significant relationship between all types of mites and specific IgE to lobster (f80) (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant positive correlation between specific IgE levels to house dust mites and crustacea sp. in allergic rhinitis in children at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital in Palembang. These results indicate the possibility of immunological cross-reactions between inhaled house dust mite allergens and food allergens from Crustacea sp.
