FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI LAMA RAWAT PASIEN PNEUMONIA DI INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) RSMH PALEMBANG TAHUN 2022-2024

Background: Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of patients requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission and contributes significantly to high morbidity and mortality rates. The length of ICU stay is influenced by various clinical factors, including age, comorbidities, and types of antibiotic therapy. Objective: To identify factors influencing the length of stay among pneumonia patients in the ICU of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang during 2022–2024. Methods: This was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design involving 70 adult pneumonia patients admitted to the ICU who met the inclusion criteria. Variables included age, sex, comorbidities, and type of antibiotic therapy, analyzed in relation to the length of stay (>10 days or ≤10 days). Bivariate analysis was performed using the Chi-square test, and multivariate analysis used binary logistic regression with a significance level of p0.05). Conclusion: No factors were found to significantly affect the length of stay of pneumonia patients in the ICU after controlling for other variables. Therefore, the duration of hospitalization is likely more influenced by disease severity and individual therapeutic response.
