KESESUAIAN PEMERIKSAAN MRI DENGAN PENEMUAN INTRA OPERASI PADA SUSPEK PASIEN RUPTUR ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT DI RSUP DR MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2024-2025
Background: The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is an important ligament in the knee joint that is prone to injury, especially during sports activities. Early diagnosis is crucial to prevent knee instability and complications. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is commonly used as a non-invasive diagnostic tool, while arthroscopy remains the gold standard for diagnosis. Objective: To determine the level of consistency between MRI examination and intraoperative (arthroscopic) findings in patients with suspected ACL rupture at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang during 2024–2025. Methods: This study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 53 patients with knee injuries suspected rupture ACL aged 18–40 years who underwent both MRI and arthroscopy. Data analysis included univariate analysis to describe patient characteristics and bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to assess consistency between MRI and arthroscopy. Diagnostic test evaluation was conducted to calculate sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and accuracy of MRI. Results: The majority of patients were aged 18–25 years (50.9%) and male (84.9%). ACL rupture was found in 75.5% of patients. The consistency between MRI and arthroscopy was statistically significant (p = 0.000004). MRI demonstrated a sensitivity of 92.5%, specificity of 69.2%, PPV of 90.2%, NPV of 75%, and accuracy of 86.8%. Conclusion: MRI shows a high level of consistency with intraoperative arthroscopic findings in diagnosing ACL rupture.
