Poverty is the main key to the existence of social assistance programs for which the government creates social assistance which is the provision of assistance in the form of money/goods from the central government to individuals, families, groups and/or communities which is not continuous and selective in nature which aims to protect against risks. social. The Social Assistance Program from the Central Government requires the role of Subdistricts in the success of the Social Assistance Program. For this reason, the aim of this research is to find out the role of sub-districts in the social assistance program in Sungai Selayur sub-district, Kalidoni sub-district, Palembang city and what forms of social assistance exist in Sungai Selayur sub-district, Kalidoni sub-district, Palembang city. The theory used in this research is the Role Theory from Jim Ife & Frank Tesoriero (2014). The research method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with a case study research strategy. Data was obtained through observations of 6 main informants and 5 supporting informants through interviews and documentation. The results of this research show the role given by the Subdistrict in the Social Assistance program, namely as a place to provide information (Educational Role) and Technical Role (Social Assistance Data Manager). The form of Social Assistance received by the Sungai Selayur Subdistrict, Kalidoni District, Palembang City from the government The center focuses on 3 Social Assistance, namely Bpnt (Non-Cash Food Assistance), Kis (Healthy Indonesia Card) and Pkh (Family Hope Program).
