Introduction. Sepsis is organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated body response to infection. Organ dysfunction is defined as an increase in the SOFA score of ≥2 points. The SOFA score is then used as a guide in the diagnosis and regular monitoring of sepsis. This study aimed to determine the SOFA score overview in sepsis patients in the ICU at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang. Method. This study used a descriptive method with a cross-sectional design and a sample size of 221 sepsis patients treated in the ICU at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang, from 2022 to 2024. Samples were collected using a total sampling technique. The variables studied were age, gender, patient type, source of infection, ventilator use, duration of ventilator use, comorbidities, and mortality. The data were then processed univariately using SPSS. Results. Sepsis patients had an average age of 47.62 years, were predominantly male (54.3%), surgical patients (63.3%), and patients with gastrointestinal infections (37.1%). Higher average SOFA scores were found in patients not on ventilators (4.20±2.66), with a duration of ventilator use >27 days (9.20±3.27), moderate CCI scores (6.29±3.86), and deaths (5.24±3.15).
