PERBANDINGAN EFEKTIVITAS BIOBALL, SABUT KELAPA, DAN ZEOLIT SEBAGAI BAHAN FILTER DALAM PEMELIHARAAN BENIH IKAN TAMBAKAN DALAM SISTEM RESIRKULASI

Pratami, Syarah Putri - Personal Name;

One of the main challenges in kissing gourami farming is water quality management, which is very important for maintaining fish health and growth. However, kissing gourami farming faces the major challenge of declining water quality due to the accumulation of feed residues and fish metabolites during maintenance. Poorly managed organic waste accumulation can cause stress, disease, and death in farmed fish. Efforts that can be made to overcome this water quality problem are to use a recirculation system. This study aims to test and compare the effectiveness of bioball, coconut fiber, and zeolite as filter materials in reducing the risk of water quality deterioration in kissing gourami seed rearing media. Filtration that can be used in RAS is bioball, coconut fiber, and zeolite. This study was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Pond, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya in April-May 2025. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replications. The composition of the coconut fiber and zeolite filter used was 20 g L-1. P0: No filter used, P1: Bioball filter, P2: Coconut fiber filter and P3: Zeolite filter. The results of the study indicated that P3 (zeolite filter) produced the best results with water quality on day 30, namely pH 7.26, ammonia 0.041 mg L-1, TDS 525 mg L- 1, turbidity 0.89 NTU, absolute weight and length growth of 0.70 g and 0.55 cm, respectively, feed efficiency of 30.14%, and survival rate of 100%. Meanwhile, P2 (coconut fiber) produced the best results with water quality on day 30, namely BOD5 2.1 mg L-1.
