PROFIL KLINIS PASIEN VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECT YANG MENJALANI OPERASI JANTUNG TERBUKA DI RSUP MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2023 – MEI 2025
Introduction: Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) is the presence of one or more holes in the interventricular septum (IVS). VSD is the most common congenital heart disease (CHD) in children and one of the treatment option is open heart surgery. This research aims to identify the clinical profile of VSD patients who underwent open heart surgery at RSUP Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in period of January 2023 – May 2025. Methods: This research is an observational descriptive research with secondary data taken from the patient's medical records. The sample in this study is a VSD patient who underwent open heart surgery at RSUP Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in period of January 2023 – May 2025. The sampling methods used is total sampling which is processed using SPSS. The data were analyzed using descriptive methods and presented in the form of tables and narratives. Results: The results of a study on 45 patient samples showed that the perimembranous type of VSD is the most common type of VSD (71,1%) with the most age group > 1 year - 5 years (37,8%) and male gender (55,6%). Shortness of breath is the most common main complaint (42,2%). Most patient had a hospital length of stay (LOS) ≤ 7 days (60%). The postoperative patient’s clinical results in this study were good with most of the patients live (88.9%). Conclusion: The clinical profile of VSD patients who underwent open heart surgery at RSUP Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period of January 2023 – May 2025 was most often found with the perimembranous VSD type, age group > 1 year – 5 years, male gender, length of stay ≤ 7 days, and most patients lived postoperative.
