ANALISIS POTENSI GEOSITE DENGAN MODIFIED GEOSITE ASSESSMENT METHODS DI KABUPATEN MUSI RAWAS UTARA, SUMATERA SELATAN

Musi Rawas Utara Regency harbors significant geotourism potential, represented by its two prominent geosites: Danau Rayo (Rayo Lake) and Sosokan Waterfall. This study aimed to comprehensively analyze and assess the potential of these two geosites using the Modified Geosite Assessment Model (M-GAM), which integrates expert assessment and visitor perceptions. The analysis results show that both geosites possess very high Main Values (MV) of 12.7 for Danau Rayo and 11.7 for Sosokan Waterfall, reflecting their rarity, scientific significance, and outstanding natural beauty. However, their Additional Values (AV) are in the medium category (Danau Rayo: 8.43; Sosokan Waterfall: 6.5), indicating limitations in infrastructure, supporting facilities, promotion, and accessibility. Based on these findings, the study recommends development strategies focused on enhancing value in additional ways, such as constructing interpretive facilities, improving accessibility, and implementing digital promotion. Overall, this research concludes that both geosites have a strong foundation to become world-class geotourism destinations and provides a scientific basis and strategic recommendations for stakeholders for the sustainable development of geotourism in Musi Rawas Utara Regency.
