PENGARUH STRUKTUR MODAL DAN LIKUIDITAS TERHADAP PROFITABILITAS PADA PERUSAHAAN SUB SEKTOR PERTAMBANGAN BATU BARA YANG TERDAFTAR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA

This study aims to analyze the effect of capital structure and liquidity on profitability. The research sample consists of 155 samples comprising 31 companies in the coal mining sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2019-2023. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that capital structure does not affect profitability. Meanwhile, liquidity has a positive effect on profitability. This is because companies in this sector tend to have large fixed assets and stable sources of funding, so that the capital structure (both debt and equity proportions) does not directly affect the company's ability to generate profits. Meanwhile, liquidity has a positive effect because companies have stable cash flows, enabling them to meet their short-term obligations, which ultimately supports the smooth operation of their business
