FENOMENA PINJAMAN ONLINE (PINJOL) PADA MASYARAKAT DESA SUBAN JERIJI KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM
The current era of technology is one where everything has become simpler, even without the need for any special devices, everything has become very accessible. One of the platforms that makes things easier is the platform offering digital loan services, commonly referred to as online loans (PINJOL). Based on the research problem formulated, this study aims to determine the types of platforms used by the community, the reasons borrowers take online loans, and the impacts generated from these online loans. The research strategy used is qualitative descriptive. According to Max Weber, qualitative descriptive research involves an in-depth understanding of the subjective meanings given by individuals to their actions within a social context. Each online loan platform has different characteristics, such as loan limits, borrowing requirements, login procedures, and disbursement systems. There are many online loan companies offering various types of loans, including personal loans, small business loans, or even educational loans. This provides customers with more options according to their needs. However, online loans often have higher interest rates compared to traditional bank loans, which means that borrowers may end up paying more in the long term. The study also highlights that online loan collections often cause discomfort for borrowers. Therefore, it is advised that the community avoid online loans due to the high interest rates and uncomfortable collection practices. If loans are taken, they should be paid off as soon as possible, as failing to do so can lead to serious consequences, such as being blacklisted by the OJK (Financial Services Authority) and facing further financial difficulties.
