Melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) have benefits in the field of traditional medicine. Melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) contain secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, and saponins. This study aims to determine the hepatoprotector activity of ethyl acetate fraction of melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) and hepatic histopathological picture of male white rats induced by carbon tetrachloride. The test was conducted for 14 days with a total of 35 rats divided into 7 groups, namely normal control (Na CMC 0.5% p.o), negative control (CCl4 mg/kgBB), positive control (Silimarin 100mg/kgBB), ethyl acetate fraction group of melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) with doses of 10, 20, 40, and 80 mg/kgBB. The results of the study of the administration of ethyl acetate fraction of melinjo leaves (Gnetum gnemon L.) showed a significant difference (p0.05) so that the 80 mg/kgBB dose gives the best macroscopic and histopathological picture of the liver compared to doses of 10, 20, 40 mg/kgBB, so it can be said that the 80 mg/kgBB dose is effective as a hepatoprotector induced by CCl4.
