PENERAPAN INTERVENSI FOOT MASSAGE DAN HYDROTHERAPY (KOMPRES AIR HANGAT) TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PASIEN STROKE DENGAN HIPERTENSI
Stroke is a disorder of brain function that occurs due to disruption of blood supply to the brain. Hypertension is the main cause of stroke. One of the complementary therapies that can be given to stroke patients with hypertension is using hydrotherapy and foot massage to help lower the patient's blood pressure. The aim of writing this scientific work is to provide nursing care to stroke patients using hydrotherapy and foot massage. The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach on three stroke patients with hypertension. The results of the assessment of the three managed patients showed that six nursing problems emerged, including decreased intracranial adaptive capacity, impaired physical mobility, impaired verbal communication, the risk of falls, the risk of pressure sores, and the risk of aspiration. Hydrotherapy and foot massage can improve blood circulation and stimulate the autonomic nervous system to respond by relaxing the body and lowering blood pressure. Meanwhile, after being given hydrotherapy and foot massage interventions for 3 days, there was a decrease in blood pressure values in stroke patients with hypertension.
