PERAN WAIPA (WOMEN PARLIAMENTARIANS OF AIPA) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERLIBATAN PEREMPUAN DALAM PARLEMEN DI INDONESIA
WAIPA (Women Parliamentarians of AIPA) is a forum originating from AIPA (ASEAN Inter- Parliamentary Assembly) that refers to the empowerment and political standing of women, offering innovative approaches to increase women's participation in parliament. This research explores how WAIPA attempts to encourage women's active involvement in politics, particularly in parliament. Case studies from various international contexts show that the implementation of the WAIPA concept has succeeded in increasing the number of women elected to parliament, as well as strengthening their voice in the decision-making process. WAIPA not only focuses on individual empowerment, but also seeks structural transformation to remove systematic barriers to women's involvement in politics. The results of this study highlight the importance of sustained commitment to promoting gender equality at the legislative level. Thus, WAIPA is not only about facilitating women's direct involvement, but also about creating a political environment that supports and promotes women's involvement as an integral element of an inclusive and sustainable democracy. Keywords: WAIPA, AIPA, ASEAN, International Organization, Indonesian Parliament.
