ANALISIS RESEPSI INTERPRETASI MAHASISWA PADA NILAI FEMINISME DALAM FILM BARBIE (2023)

This research aims to analyze the reception of students interpretations of feminist values in the Barbie film. Using descriptive qualitative research methods and Stuart Hall's main theory of reception analysis as well as the supporting theory of Uses and Effect. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with students, documentation and also observation. The research results obtained will show that the informants are in three positions of receiving and interpreting messages according to Stuart Hall, namely the dominant-hegemonic position, the negotiation position, and the opposition position. Apart from that, it will show the influence or effects produced by the characteristics of media content on students. There are three effects produced after watching a film, consisting of: cognitive effects, affective effects, and behavioral effects.
