STRATEGI KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA BADAN KESATUAN BANGSA DAN POLITIK KOTA PALEMBANG DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA KEPEGAWAIAN SELAMA MASA JABATANYA
This research is motivated by the enormous role of leaders in determining the progress or decline of an organization. Based on the regional apparatus level, the results of the internal SAKIP evaluation carried out by the Inspectorate in 2019, 2020 and 2021, the Kesbangpol Agency, only achieved a B grade. Looking at the results of the existing performance evaluation, leaders are certainly required to be able to improve their performance achievements to be better than the previous year, especially Kesbangpol The city of Palembang has experienced 3 changes in the head of the agency, so this is a challenge that must be faced by the leader who currently serves as Head of the Kesbangpol Agency for the City of Palembang, namely Mr. Ahmadi Damrah, SE, MM. in improving this performance, the leadership of the head of the Agency in carrying out and determining strategies to improve the performance of his employees. The theory used in this research is the theory from Robert J House (1971) which consists of directive leadership, supporting leadership, participative leadership, and achievement-oriented leadership. Using qualitative descriptive methods and data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation and observation. The results of this research indicate that the leadership strategy carried out by the Head of the Kesbangpol Agency to improve personnel performance during his overall term of office has been effective. For some sub-indicators, it may not have been implemented completely well, but this continues to develop. However, leadership success is determined more by the leader's ability to understand and adapt to different situations, so the author concludes that the strategy implemented by the Head of the Kesbangpol Agency is good.
