GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP TENAGA MEDIS DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TERHADAP OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA (OSA)

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder caused by airway obstruction, which reduces oxygen supply and increases the risk of chronic disease. In Indonesia, its prevalence is unknown due to limited data and limited medical personnel knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to assess their knowledge and attitudes towards OSA at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Methods: This research is a descriptive cross-sectional study at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang, in August–September 2025. Respondents were medical personnel who completed the OSAKA questionnaire online. Data were analyzed univariately using Stata version 16. Results: Of the 213 respondents, the majority (92 people) (43.19%) had sufficient knowledge and 82 (38.5%) had good knowledge. 207 (97.18%) had a high level of understanding of snoring symptoms, but low levels of understanding of CPAP therapy and surgery. Awareness was high, but confidence in management was still low. Conclussion: The level of knowledge of medical personnel regarding OSA is considered sufficient with a positive attitude, however, confidence in management still needs to be improved through training.
