PENAMBAHAN TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) DALAM PAKAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN EFISIENSI PAKAN IKAN TAMBAKAN (Helostoma temminckii)
The slow growth and low feed efficiency value of kissing gourami cause obstacles in fish farming activities. Some research results show the ability of kissing gourami to utilize feed for growth is still low. The addition of natural herbal ingredients in feed can stimulate increased fish growth performance. One of these ingredients is curcuma, and has been proven to be able to increase fish growth. This study aimed to determine the optimal percentage of curcuma flour addition in feed to enhance the growth and feed efficiency of kissing gourami. This research was conducted at the Basic Laboratory of Fisheries, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, in August to September 2024. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replicates. The treatments applied were different percentages of curcuma flour added to commercial feed for kissing gourami, consisting of 0% (P0), 1% (P1), 1.5% (P2), and 2% (P3).The results showed that the best percentage of curcuma addition to commercial feed for kissing gourami was 1.5%, which resulted in the absolute growth in length of 1.13 cm, absolute weight growth of 1.51 g, feed efficiency of 30.73%, protein efficiency ratio of 0.49 and survival rate 83.33%. Water quality parameters during the study were temperature ranging from 26.8- 29.2°C, dissolved oxygen ranging from 4.1-4.6 mg L-1 , pH ranging from 6.5-7.6, and ammonia ranging from 0.020-0.091 mg L-1 . Keywords: curcuma, growth, kissing gourami
