PERANCANGAN DAN PERENCANAAN GEREJA BETHEL TABERNAKEL BETHANIA PALEMBANG
The Bethel Tabernacle Church Bethania Palembang is currently unable to accommodate approximately 400 congregants from Palembang and Kayu Agung, while the existing site area of only 720 m² presents challenges related to capacity, spatial flexibility, and the limitations of a densely built residential context. This final project aims to design a functional and efficient church through an approach emphasizing spatial flexibility and vertical space utilization. The existing conditions reveal restricted access through narrow local roads, high parking demand, regulatory constraints on building coverage and setbacks, and close proximity to neighboring structures that affect privacy, noise levels, and the orientation of openings. The general design concept is grounded in spatial efficiency, adaptability, and responsiveness to the surrounding context. The architectural concept is expressed through multifunctional spaces supported by portable partitions and movable furniture. The resulting design produces a multilevel church that is flexible, efficient, and capable of accommodating liturgical activities effectively.
