The Puncak Bogor area is a tourism destination characterized by its mountainous landscape, featuring hilly topography, pine forests, and tea plantations, supported by good accessibility through the Puncak Highway. Although the region recorded more than 2.56 million visitors in 2023, tourist activity remains dominated by artificial attractions, indicating that the potential of natural tourism has not been fully optimized due to limited facilities and inadequate area management. The development of a resort using a neo-vernacular architectural approach is considered relevant for enhancing the quality of visitor experience by integrating local cultural values with modern comfort, while also strengthening the architectural identity of the area. However, the design process faces two major challenges: achieving a balance between local character and modernity, and responding to the complexities of hilly topography in structural planning and design. This design aims to understand the process of developing a resort in Puncak Bogor and to produce a proposal that meets established standards while applying neo-vernacular architectural principles, thereby supporting the advancement of higher-quality and more sustainable nature-based tourism.
