HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK MATERNAL DENGAN KEJADIAN PERSALINAN PRETERM DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Preterm birth is one of the leading causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality. The proportion of preterm births at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang, is relatively high, highlighting the need to identify maternal risk factors associated with preterm delivery in order to guide prevention strategies. Methods: This was an analytic observational study with a case–control design using secondary data from medical records of all women who delivered at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital from June 2023 to June 2025. A total of 638 eligible mothers were included by total sampling, consisting of 230 preterm births (36.1%) and 408 term births (63.9%). Maternal characteristics assessed were maternal age, parity, education level, occupation, place of residence, antenatal care (ANC) history, maternal diseases (including preeclampsia), history of preterm birth, and history of abortion. Data were analyzed using Chi-square tests for bivariate analysis and binary logistic regression for multivariate analysis. Results: High-risk maternal age (35 years) and high-risk parity (nulliparity and grand multiparity) showed higher proportions of preterm birth and were significantly associated with preterm delivery (p
