erature. The research method is in the form of qualitative descriptive. The source of data and data is in the form of the novel Azab Dan Misery by Merari Siregar which contains several intrinsic element analyses. Data collection techniques are in the form of reading techniques and note-taking techniques. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques are in the form of data classification, data entry, data description and conclusion. Based on the research that has been conducted, it is found that the intrinsic analysis of the novel is in the form of themes, plots, characters/characters, settings, plots, language styles and mandates. Novel learning in high school is related to the basic competency 3.9, which is to analyze the content and language of the novel discussed in grade XII semester 1. The implications of the research results in learning Indonesia literature are as a means of improving students' cognitive abilities about the analysis of intrinsic elements and their various forms, especially how to analyze them so as to open students' minds to read various Indonesia novels.
