PENERAPAN METODE NDWI DAN NMDI UNTUK MENDUGA KETERSEDIAAN AIR TANAH SECARA SPASIAL PADA LAHAN REKLAMASI PASCATAMBANG BATUBARA DI TANJUNG ENIM

Cherly, Annisa - Personal Name;

Groundwater availability on post-mining reclamation land is important to know, but currently the availability of such data is still lacking. The large area of post-mining reclamation land makes it difficult to acquire groundwater availability data because it requires considerable energy and cost, therefore the use of remote sensing using satellite data based on Normalized Diffrence Water Index (NDWI) and Normalized Multiband Drought Index (NMDI) values has the potential to estimate water availability on post-mining reclamation land. This study aims to identify the level of groundwater availability on post-mining reclamation land using remote sensing technology based on Sentinel-2A data by calculating NDWI and NMDI values and identifying the accuracy of the effectiveness of the two indices in predicting soil water content. The analysis resulted in coefficient of determination (R²) values of 0.7867 and 0.9159. This shows that NDWI and NMDI have a strong and statistically significant relationship with soil moisture content in the field. The RMSE analysis obtained values of 0.53 and 0.86. The results of the RMSE calculation can be interpreted that both indices (NDWI and NMDI) are proven to be able to represent the condition of soil moisture content in post-mining reclamation land with a fairly high accuracy. So this research shows that based on the results of regression tests and RMSE analysis, NMDI is proven to be more effective in predicting soil moisture content in post-mining reclamation areas.
