HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN, SIKAP, DAN PERILAKU IBU HAMIL DENGAN KUNJUNGAN ANTENATAL CARE (ANC) DI PUSKESMAS BASUKI RAHMAT PALEMBANG
Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an important indicator for assessing a country’s health status and has become a global concern in efforts to achieve the SDGs 3.1 target. Although the national MMR in Indonesia shows a downward trend, the figure remains above the SDGs target. In South Sumatra Province, the MMR has fluctuated in recent years, with the highest number of cases recorded in Palembang City. This condition may be influenced by various factors, including delays in medical management, high-risk pregnancies, and inadequate histories of Antenatal Care (ANC) visits. ANC is a series of health services aimed at ensuring optimal maternal health during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as supporting the delivery of a healthy newborn. According to the 2020 antenatal care guidelines, every pregnant woman is recommended to complete at least six ANC visits. However, data indicate that adherence to the ANC schedule remains low. ANC compliance is influenced by behavioral and non-behavioral factors as described in Lawrence Green’s theory, in which knowledge, attitudes, and practices of pregnant women serve as key components that determine health actions. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and practices of pregnant women and ANC visits. The research employed a descriptive analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 52 pregnant women were selected using consecutive sampling. Data were collected through primary data using Google Form and printed questionnaires, and analyzed using the Fisher Exact Test. In this study, the majority of respondents had good knowledge of ANC (48.1%), positive attitudes toward ANC (88.5%), and good ANC practices (78.8%). The findings showed a significant association between maternal knowledge and ANC visits (p = 0.032), as well as between maternal practices and ANC visits (p = 0.011). Meanwhile, attitudes did not show a significant relationship with ANC visits (p = 0.612).
