HUBUNGAN ANTARA FAKTOR RISIKO DENGAN VISUS PADA PASIEN RETINOPATI DIABETIKA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most common complications in diabetic patients that can lead to vision impairment and blindness. The severity of this retinopathy is often influenced by various factors such as glycemic control, hypertension, and intraocular pressure. However, the relationship between these factors and visual acuity in DR patients is not yet fully understood. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional design with a retrospective approach, involving 80 diabetic retinopathy patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Data were collected from patient medical records, including age, gender, HbA1c levels, severity of retinopathy, hypertension, and intraocular pressure. Multivariate analysis was used to assess the factors influencing visual acuity. Results: The multivariate analysis showed that the severity of diabetic retinopathy is the primary predictor of visual acuity, while HbA1c levels, hypertension, and intraocular pressure did not show a significant relationship with visual acuity in diabetic retinopathy patients. Conclusions: Managing the severity of diabetic retinopathy should be the primary focus in maintaining visual function in type 2 diabetes patients. Early intervention and controlling risk factors can prevent further deterioration of visual acuity. Keywords: Diabetic Retinopathy, Visual Acuity, Retinopathy Severity, HbA1c, Hypertension, Intraocular Pressure.
