SINTESIS KOMPOSIT (BENTONIT-TIO2)-GO UNTUK PENYERAPAN ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU
This research generates the synthesis of (bentonite-TiO2)-GO composites for the distribution of methylene blue dye. A dye that is often used for textile coloring purposes with various chemical properties, one of which is methylene blue. The dyes that are thrown away will end up as waste. This has the potential to harm human health and threaten aquatic ecosystems. The adsorption method is one that is used to reduce the concentration of dye waste in water. The adsorption method uses an adsorbent in the form of bentonite. The bentonite is modified by adding TiO2 and GO to increase the surface area, create active sites, and increase the adsorption percentage. The (bentonite-TiO2)-GO composite was used for the absorption of methylene blue dye.The (bentonite-TiO2)-GO composite was characterized using XRD and SEM. Based on the XRD and SEM results, it shows that the composite synthesis was successful. (Bentonite-TiO2)-GO composite with a ratio of 1:1 has better adsorption capabilities than ratios of 1:2 and 1:4. The best conditions for absorbing methylene blue dye with the (bentonite-TiO2)-GO composite were obtained with a concentration ratio of 1 mg/L in a contact time of 30 minutes with 25 mg of adsorbent mass with the highest percentage of adsorption effectiveness of 87.98%. The adsorption isotherm model for the (bentonite-TiO2)-GO composite tends to follow the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.
