RESPON TANAMAN BAYAM HIJAU (Amaranthus hybridus L.) TERHADAP APLIKASI BIOCHAR DAN TEH KOMPOS TUMBUHAN LOTUS PADA TANAH RAWA LEBAK

Pramana, Satria Agung - Personal Name;

Green spinach (Amaranthus hybridus L.) is a green vegetable plant that is commonly grown and utilized. Lebak marshland has a low fertility rate, which can affect the productivity of crops cultivated. The use of organic matter is one of the options for increasing soil fertility. Some types of organic matter that can be used include biochar and compost tea. The purpose of this study is to determine the growth response and yield of green spinach planted on the soil of swamp origin to the provision of lotus biochar and lotus compost tea, and determine the best dose of lotus biochar and lotus compost tea for the growth of green spinach which is planted on the original soil of swamp lebak. Research has been carried out on Jl. Politeknik, Palembang, South Sumatra with coordinates 3°00'15.4"S 104°43'44.5"E and Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from September to January 2024. The design to be used in this study is the Factorial Group Random Design (FGRD) consisting of 2 factors Factor I is the source of Biochar lotus B0= 0 tons ha-1 biochar lotus, B1= 10 tons ha-1 biochar lotus B2= 20 tons ha-1 biochar lotus. Factor II lotus compost tea C0= 0 mL plant-1, C1= 40 mL plant-1, C2= 80 mL plant-1, C3= 120 mL plant-1. There were 12 treatment combinations that were repeated 4 times each and each experimental unit represented 1 plant, bringing the total to 48 plants. The variables observed in this study were soil pH analysis, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf greenness level, header fresh weight, header dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight, root length, and root header ratio. The results showed that the combination of biochar treatment and lotus compost tea (BxC) had a very real effect on changing the number of leaves and dry weight of the roots. The combination treatment of biochar and lotus compost tea B2C3 treatment (20 tons ha-1 biochar + 120 mL of compost tea) showed better growth and results compared to other treatments. Keywords: Biochar, Compost Tea, Rawa Lebak, Spinach Plant (Amaranthus hybridus L)
