KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL ATLET DAN PELATIH DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI PADA KLUB TAEKWONDO PENGADILAN NEGERI PALEMBANG
This thesis research is entitled ‘Interpersonal Communication between athletes and coaches in improving achievements at the Palembang State Court Taekwondo Club’. This research discusses how interpersonal communication occurs between coaches and athletes in improving achievements at the Palembang state court taekwondo club. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques carried out according to guidelines through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The interpersonal communication theory used is Joseph A. Devito's Humanistic Theory which focuses on openness, empathy, supportive attitudes, positive attitudes, and equality. The results showed that interpersonal communication between coaches and athletes was very influential in increasing athlete motivation and achievement. Interwoven communication includes providing clear construction, constructive feedback, and emotional support. Communication barriers found include differences in perception and lack of openness on the part of athletes. This research provides practical shadows for sports club coaches to improve their communication techniques to achieve optimal results.
