UJI DAYA HAMBAT INFUSA DAUN TELANG (Clitoria ternatea L.) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN CANDIDA ALBICANS
Background: Candida albicans is a fungal species that most commonly causes infections in the oral cavity. The emergence of side effects from the use of antifungal drugs encourages research to find alternative treatments. Telang plant is one of the plants whose content has potential as an alternative antifungal material. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibition of telang leaf infusa against Candida albicans fungal growth in vitro. Method: Telang leaves were extracted using the infundation method, then diluted using distilled water to a solution of telang leaf infusion with concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10%. Antifungal power test against Candida albicans was carried out by Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion test to determine the diameter of the inhibition zone. The positive control in this study was nistatin. Results: The zone of inhibition formed was only found in the positive control, which was nistatin with an average inhibition zone of 21.9 mm. Conclusion: Telang leaf infusion with concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% cannot inhibit the growth of Candida albicans fungi.
