SINTESIS KOMPOSIT MnFe2O4/KARBON AKTIF@ZnO UNTUK ADSORPSI DAN DEGRADASI ZAT WARNA CONGO RED
Research on the synthesis of MnFe2O4/Activated Carbon@ZnO for adsorption and degradation of Congo red dye. Coal-based activated carbon is chemically activated. Synthesis MnFe2O4/Active Carbon and MnFe2O4/Active Carbon@ZnO were synthesized using the coprecipitation method. The composite is a powder that is faded brown in color and is magnetic. The results of the synthesis of MnFe2O4/Activated Carbon@ZnO were characterized using XRD, VSM and UV-Vis DRS. The XRD characterization results show that the crystal size of active carbon, MnFe2O4, and ZnO is 20.79; 12.89; and 28.68 nm. The VSM characterization results show a saturation magnetization value of 18.56 emu/g. The results of UV-Vis DRS characterization show that the energy gap for MnFe2O4/activated carbon@ZnO is 1.81 eV. The MnFe2O4/activated carbon@ZnO composite has a pHpzc of 5.35. The best conditions for photodegradation and adsorption are determined by varying pH, concentration and contact time. The best conditions are obtained with pH 5 conditions with a concentration of 20 mg/L for 100 minutes. The effectiveness of reducing concentration by photodegradation and adsorption was found to be 93.58% and 79.04%.
