Introduction: Low back pain (LBP) is a global health problem affecting at least 80% of the population. Low back pain can be classified into inflammatory and non inflammatory types, with the latter being more prevalent. Several previous studies have demonstrated associations between demographic factors—including age, sex, body mass index (BMI), comorbidities, and physical activity level—and LBP. However, research examining the relationship between these demographic factors and LBP in Palembang remains limited, particularly regarding the inflammatory and non-inflammatory subtypes. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between demographic factors and LBP among patients attending the rheumatology outpatient clinic at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Method: This was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design conducted from August to November 2025. Samples were selected using a consecutive sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, with data collected through interviews and medical records.
