ANALISA SEBARAN LOGAM BERAT BESI (Fe) SERTA STATUS MUTU PERAIRAN PADA SUNGAI GASING
The research on the distribution of heavy metal iron (Fe) in Gasing River water has been conducted. This research aims to determine the distribution of heavy metal iron (Fe) pollution in Gasing River and the quality status of Gasing River water. This research began with sampling at seven points, including the upstream of Gasing River, Kenten Village Bridge, Gasing Tengah Bridge, Middle of Gasing River, PT Sutopo, Kenten Estuary, and Sebalik Estuary. Analysis of physical parameters (temperature, depth, and current velocity) and chemical parameters (pH, DO and iron metal concentration) were carried out. The determination of Fe levels in Gasing River water used the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. Based on the measurement of physical parameters, the temperature was found to range from 21°C to 25°C, the depth from 3.1 meters to 15 meters, and the current velocity from 0.3 m/s to 1 m/s. The measurement of chemical parameters showed a pH of 3.16 to 5.76, DO of 2.04 mg/L to 5.28 mg/L and a measurable iron (Fe) metal concentration ranging from 1.38 mg/L to 3.45 mg/L. The distribution of Fe metal from upstream to downstream tends to fluctuate and exceeds the quality standard according to Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2021, which is 0.3 mg/L. The water quality status of the Gasing River according to the pollution index is classified as lightly polluted with a value of (1.0 ≤ IP ≤ 5.0).
