This study aims to identify the economic potential of the female Pre-Elderly population in Timbangan Village, Ogan Ilir. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach involving 7 research subjects with the criteria of female Pre-Elderly residents in Timbangan Village who work in the non-formal sector. Data collection techniques were observation, interview, and focus group discussion. The results showed that there were three aspects used, namely community economic needs, community economic potential, efforts and processes to utilize economic potential. The economic needs of Pre-elderly women in Timbangan Village are the fulfillment of primary needs including clothing, shelter and food needs, as well as children's education needs. Pre-elderly women currently focus on meeting real needs and there is no planning or preparation of economic needs for the future. . Therefore, Pre-elderly women have hopes that their children will be assisted with economic fulfillment when they enter old age later. Pre-elderly women in Kelurahan Timbangan have tried to fulfill their economic needs and have their own sense of satisfaction in working by relying on their economic potential, namely businesses in the trade sector, work as well as utilizing their expertise and skills in cooking. Kelurahan Timbangan has the natural potential of fertile soil and a large yard that is used to grow vegetables. In addition, there is a friendly and harmonious social environment so that good social relations are established. These good social conditions can improve economic welfare in a sustainable manner as the Pre-Elderly women help each other in promoting each other's businesses.
