PENGARUH PERSENTASE BERAT KATALIS NI/C DAN TEMPERATUR PADA HYDROCRACKING PRODUK PIROLISIS BATUBARA LIGNIT
This study aims to determine the best operating conditions based on the effect of Ni/C catalyst weight percentage and temperature on hydrocracking of lignite coal pyrolysis products. The hydrocracking process was carried out using variations in catalyst weight percentage of 5, 10, 15, dan 20% also using temperature variations of 400, 450, 500, 550, and 600°C. Catalyst characterization was conducted using XRD and acidity test, while product analysis included specific gravity, heating value, and GC-MS. The results showed the characterization of Ni/C by XRD at an angle of 2θ = 23.3° indicating amorphous phase carbon, angles 2θ = 44.77, 52.02, and 76.65° showing the diffraction pattern of crystalline phase Ni metal and at angles 2θ = 37.24, 43.30, and 62.84° showing the diffraction pattern of crystalline phase NiO. The surface and total acidity values of Ni/C catalyst were 0.9057 mmol/g and 3.4197 mmol/g, respectively. The highest percent yield of liquid product from hydrocracking was 21.84%. The optimum condition of catalyst weight percentage was obtained at 10% and the optimum temperature was reached at 550°C. The lowest specific gravity obtained was 0.8105 g/mL and the highest calorific value obtained was 3148.60 cal/g. The results of liquid product analysis using GC-MS obtained dominant compounds of phenol and its derivatives as well as ester.
