WACANA TERORISME DALAM FILM INDONESIA (ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS FILM ALIF LAM MIM (2015))

Film is one of the mass media that is highly favored by people, especially young individuals. Furthermore, films now can be easily accessed through their respective smartphones. One such film is Alif Lam Mim, which falls under the dystopian genre. The objective of this research is to investigate the discourse of terrorism within the film Alif Lam Mim (2015) using Teun A. Van Dijk's Discourse Analysis theory. The research methodology employed in this study is qualitative descriptive method. Data were derived from text analysis, social cognition, and social analysis. Initially, the textual dimension was structured based on the director's concern regarding the phenomenon of Islamophobia, which led to the creation of a discourse on terrorism that tends to portray Muslims in a negative light with good intentions. Meanwhile, within the social context, the issues raised in the film Alif Lam Mim sparked heated discussions upon its initial release, including some peculiar occurrences such as negatives criticism towards the film, the editing of certain scenes, and even censorship.
