ANALISIS PERILAKU PENGGUNAAN AIR BERSIH DAN JAMBAN SEHAT DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING DI KECAMATAN PEMULUTAN KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR

ABSTRACT Background: Stunting is often not realized by society that short bodies are common and considered normal. Stunting is caused by many factors that are related to each other. Factors regarding poor behavior in using clean water and healthy latrine can cause infectious diseases which can hinder the growth of toddlers. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the behavior of using clean water and healthy latrine and the incidence of stunting. Method: This type of research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique that carried out in Pemulutan District was purposive sampling of 106 toddler mothers aged 24-59 months. Results: The results of this study showed that there is a relationship between education (p-value= 0.023), income (p-value= 0.011), behavior of using clean water (p-value= 0.000), behavior of using healthy latrine (p-value= 0.014), knowledge (p-value= 0.000) and attitude (p-value= 0.002) with the incidence of stunting in Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Meanwhile, mother's occupation (p-value= 0.072) has no relationship with the incidence of stunting. The results of the multivariate analysis found that the most dominant factor influencing the incidence of stunting is the behavior of using clean water. Conclusion: The more the unhealthy behavior of the mother towards the use of clean water, the greater the risk of the toddler experiencing stunting. There is a need to increase education and community empowerment regarding the use of clean water and processing water for drinking as an effort to prevent stunting.
