SINTESIS KOMPOSIT KITOSAN/GRAPHENE OXIDE-Fe2O3 DENGAN METODE KOPRESIPITASI UNTUK ADSORPSI ZAT WARNA METILEN BIRU
The research about synthesis of chitosan/graphene oxide-Fe2O3 composite using the coprecipitation method for adsorption of methylene blue dye. This research was conducted to determine the ability of the chitosan/GO-Fe2O3 composite in adsorbing methylene blue dye. This composite were characterized using XRD, SEM-EDS, BET and applied in adsorbing methylene blue. The methylene blue adsorption process is carried out with several variables such as the effect of contact time, pH and concentration. The characterization results of the chitosan/GO-Fe2O3 composite show peaks at angles of 26.70º, 35.11º, 39.25º, 44.59º, 55.85º, and 64.49º has similarities with JCPDS data NO.75-0449. SEM-EDS characterization results of the chitosan/GO-Fe2O3 composite showed the morphology of the composite has a porous structure with a composition of C, N, O, and Na. BET characterization results obtained the composite surface area was 39.946 m2/g. The optimum adsorption conditions was obtained at a contact time of 50 minutes, pH 9, and a concentration of 40 mg/L with an absorption capacity of 11.290 mg/g and an absorption efficiency of 94%. The chitosan/GO-Fe2O3 composite in adsorbing methylene blue dye follows the Langmuir equation with a maximum adsorption capacity of methylene blue on the composite of 11.655 mg/g.
