PENGARUH TERAPI THOUGHT STOPPING TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN LANSIA DI PANTI SOSIAL LANJUT USIA HARAPAN KITA INDRALAYA
Anxiety is a psychological problem commonly experienced by elderly individuals as a result of physical, social, and emotional changes that may disrupt comfort and reduce quality of life. Thought stopping therapy is a non-pharmacological intervention aimed at interrupting negative thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. This study aimed to determine the effect of thought stopping therapy on anxiety levels among elderly individuals at the Harapan Kita Elderly Social Institution, Indralaya. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach and involved 31 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was the Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS), which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that prior to the intervention, most respondents experienced mild anxiety (58.1%) and moderate anxiety (41.9%). After the intervention, a significant change was observed, with (67.7%) of respondents experiencing no anxiety and (32.3%) experiencing mild anxiety. The Wilcoxon test indicated a p-value of 0.000 (p
