APLIKASI PROBIOTIK DENGAN DOSIS BERBEDA TERHADAP KUALITAS AIR DAN PERTUMBUHAN IKAN BETOK (Anabas testudineus) PADA SISTEM AKUAPONIK

Widhiastuti, Eka - Personal Name;

EKA WIDHIASTUTI. Application of Probiotics with Different Dosages on Water Quality and Growth of Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus) in Aquaponic System (Supervised by MIRNA FITRANI and FERDINAND HUKAMA TAQWA). Poor water quality can negatively impact fish growth. Introducing probiotics in the fish-rearing environment can improve water quality by converting harmful compounds into non-toxic ones. This study aimed to assess the impact of varying doses of probiotics on water quality, growth, and survival of climbing perch in an aquaponic system. The study was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Pond of the Aquaculture Study Program from October to December 2023. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, each with three replications, no addition of commercial probiotics (P0), addition of commercial probiotic at 0.5 mL L-1 water (P1), addition of commercial probiotics at 1.5 mL L-1 water (P2), addition commercial probiotics at 2.5 mL L-1 water (P3). Fingerlings of Climbing perch that measured 5.5±0.5 cm were reared for 42 days. The results showed that the most effective treatment was the addition of commercial probiotics at 0.5 mL L-1 water (P1). This treatment resulted in a temperature of 27.30±0.22oC, average pH of 7±0.13, dissolved oxygen of 6.32±0.12 mg L-1, ammonia level of 0.043±0.014 mg L-1, nitrate level of 44.92±4.92 mg L-1, and total suspended solids of 16±1.73 mg L-1. Furthermore, this treatment demonstrated the best results in terms of the survival rate of the climbing perch at 96.7%, absolute length growth of the climbing perch at 0.89±0.07 cm, absolute weight growth of the climbing perch at 1.32±0.05 g, and growth of bok choy plants resulting in a height of 17.90±1.67 cm and a plant weight of 23.10±2.0g. Keywords : aquaponics, climbing perch, bok choy, probiotics
