PENGARUH TERPAAN KONTEN INSTAGRAM DAN KUALITAS INFORMASI @NARASINEWSROOM “PERINGATAN DARURAT” TERHADAP KESADARAN POLITIK PADA MAHASISWA KOTA PALEMBANG

The rapid development of social media has transformed how society, especially the younger generation, accesses political information. This study aims to determine the influence of content exposure and information quality from the Instagram account @Narasinewsroom, particularly the “Peringatan Darurat” video, on the political awareness of university students in Palembang City. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 100 student respondents who are active Instagram users and have watched the mentioned content. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that both content exposure and information quality have a positive and significant partial influence on political awareness, with significance values of 0.022 and 0.002, respectively. However, simultaneously, these two variables contribute only 18.9% to the dependent variable, indicating that other factors also influence students’ political awareness. These findings suggest that while social media content, particularly informative and targeted political content, plays a role, digital literacy and other social contexts remain essential in shaping political awareness among young people. The study recommends improving the quality of political content and strengthening students’ critical thinking skills in consuming digital information.
