ANALISIS KETEGARAN HARGA (PRICE RIGIDITY) PADA INDUSTRI KARET REMAH (CRUMB RUBBER) DI INDONESIA (ISIC 22123)
The crumb rubber industry, processing natural rubber, is marked by few new entrants and high entry barriers due to regulatory constraints and significant economies of scale, making it an oligopoly with high industry concentration. This study explores price rigidity in Indonesia’s crumb rubber sector (ISIC 22123) from Q1 2015 to Q4 2022, focusing on SIR20 and TSR20 grades. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including multiple linear regression (OLS), the study assesses how raw material and international commodity prices impact pricing. Findings reveal notable price rigidity, with infrequent price adjustments (4-6 times annually). This rigidity is shaped by raw material availability, government policies, and price controls, while increases in raw material and international commodity prices are positively correlated with crumb rubber prices.
