MODIFIKASI POSISI SALURAN SKIMMER DAN VACUUM DRAIN PADA PEMELIHARAAN IKAN KOI (Cyprinus carpio L.)

Mukmin, Ichsanul - Personal Name;

Koi fish (Cyrpirnus carpio L.) is an ornamental fish commodity that has unique colors and patterns, but aquaculture activities are still constrained by a decrease in water quality which is one of the factors caused the low survival rate of koi fish. Application of skimmer channel and vacuum drain to kept koi fish can be a solution to maintained water quality. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to kept water quality that can support the survival rate of koi fish. This research aimed to know the best position of the recirculation channel for survival, water quality, growth in koi fish culture. This research was carried out in November-December 2023. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications, namely P0 (recirculation with the position of the skimmer channel parallel to the surface and perpendicular to vacuum drain at the bottom water coloumn), P1 (recirculation with the position of the skimmer channel parallel to the surface of the water and the vacuum drain at the bottom of the water column), P2 (recirculation with the position skimmer channel in the middle of the water column and the vacuum drain at the bottom of the water column), and P3 (recirculation with the position of the skimmer channel and vacuum drain at the bottom of the water column). Koi fish were reared for 30 days. The research results showed that P1 was the best treatment which resulted a temperature of 28.44±0.16°C, pH 7.11±0.01, ammonia 0.026±0.013 mg L-1 , dissolved oxygen 5.06±0.28 mg L-1 , turbidity 1.26±0.46 NTU, survival rate 100%, absolute length growth 1.07±0.02 cm, absolute weight growth 1.37±0.02 g, feed efficiency 31.98±0.43%, and increased brightness of fish color 7.18±0.48. The application of skimmer channel on the water surface and a vacuum drain at the bottom of the water column can maintain water quality and support other parameters such as absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, feed efficiency and increased brightness of the koi fish's color.
