ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN STABILITAS EFISIENSI TURBIN ANGIN SUMBU VERTICAL SAVONIUS 2 BLADE DAN 4 BLADE DENGAN VARIASI BAHAN TERHADAP DAYA KELUARAN ENERGI LISTRIK
According to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources report, electricity consumption per capita in Indonesia reached a record high in the last five decades, increasing by approximately 4% in 2022 to 1,173 kWh/capita compared to 2021. This increase in electricity consumption must be balanced with equitable distribution of electricity through large-scale renewable energy sources, one of which is wind energy as an alternative power generation source. This would allow areas in Indonesia not yet accessed by PLN to benefit. To this end, a study titled "Comparative Analysis of the Stability Efficiency of 2-Blade and 4-Blade Vertical Axis Savonius Wind Turbines with Material Variations on Electrical Energy Output" was conducted to determine the most suitable base material for future applications. Experimental tests determined that aluminum is the base material with the best stability efficiency, achieving 5.16% efficiency at a wind speed of 1.6 m/s, 5.63% at 2.5 m/s, and 12.01% at 3.4 m/s with 2 blades, and 2.92% at 1.6 m/s, 3.50% at 2.5 m/s, and 10.78% at 3.4 m/s with 4 blades. This is compared to polyfoam and PVC, which showed fluctuating efficiency values at different wind speeds, making them less stable as the best base material.
