PERAN PUBLIC STIGMA TERHADAP HELP-SEEKING PADA PRIA

This study aims to determine the role of public stigma in help-seeking behavior among men, specifically within the context of emerging adulthood in Indonesia. The hypothesis tested in this research is that there is a role for public stigma towards help-seeking behavior among men. Participants in this study were 258 men in emerging adulthood residing in Indonesia. The sampling technique used in this study is accidental sampling. This study uses two scales as measuring tools, namely the ATSPPH-SF scale developed by Fischer and Farina (1995) and adapted into Indonesian by Nurdiyanto, Wulandari, and Wodong (2021), as well as a public stigma scale based on dimensions from Dano (2019). Data analysis in this study was carried out using a simple regression analysis technique. The results of the regression analysis showed that the data value of R square between public stigma and help-seeking was 0.422, the F-value was 186.809, and the significant value was 0.000 (p < 0.05). This shows that public stigma has a significant role in help-seeking so that the hypothesis proposed in this study can be accepted.
