Palingga, Devinta Madiyah Putri - Personal Name;

Fine motoric skill development tends to be ruled out by the stimulants because there is an assumption that the cognitive abilities in children are more important than the fine motoric skills. Unfulfilled fine motoric development can cause delays so that stimulation efforts are needed; one form of the stimulation that can be given to the preschoolers is Finger coloring. The Finger coloring is a coloring technique without aids by applying color paint on paper with fingers, this activity aims to improve fine motoric skills involving the coordination of children's eyes and hands. This study aimed to find out the effects of finger coloring on the fine motoric development of the preschoolers of Nadira Kindergarten of Palembang. This study was a quantitative research with a type of one group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples in this study was 22 respondents selected using the probability sampling method with stratified random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was the Denver Developmental Screening Test-II (DDST-II) sheet. The results of the study showed that the child's fine motoric development before being given the intervention belonged to the category of normal as many as 9 kids (40.9%), suspect as many as 12 kids (54.5%), and untestable as many as 1 kid (4.6%) respectively. After the intervention, 18 kids (81.8%) were in the normal category and 4 kids (18.2%) were in the suspect category. The statistical analysis in this study used the Marginal Homogeneity test resulting in the p value of 0.002 (p ≤ 0.05), showing that there was an effect of finger coloring on the fine motoric development of the preschoolers. The results of the study show that the finger coloring can improve the fine motoric development of the preschoolers. The finger coloring can be used as a form of stimulation that is effective and easy to apply in supporting the fine motoric development of the preschoolers
