PENGARUH EDUKASI MELALUI VIDEO ANIMASI TERHADAP SIKAP PASIEN TENTANG DIET HIPERTENSI

Aulia, Angelica - Personal Name;

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that requires long-term management, including adherence to a hypertension diet. However, patients' attitudes toward dietary management remain suboptimal due to educational approaches that are often unengaging and difficult to understand. Animated video media represent an interactive educational alternative with the potential to improve patients' attitudes. This study aimed to determine the effect of animated video-based education on patients' attitudes toward a hypertension diet at Public Health Center Dempo, Palembang. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model to develop the animated video media, combined with a quantitative one-group pretest-posttest design involving 20 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a hypertension diet attitude questionnaire consisting of 15 Likert-scale items measuring cognitive, affective, and conative components. Data analysis was conducted by comparing attitude scores before and after the intervention using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results demonstrated an increase in attitude scores following the intervention, with statistical analysis indicating a significant effect (p < 0.05). This finding suggests that animated video-based education has a significant influence on patients' attitudes toward a hypertension diet. The improvement in attitude scores indicates that animated video education is effective in enhancing patients' attitudes toward dietary management of hypertension. Interactive visual media facilitate comprehension, increase engagement, and strengthen the formation of positive attitudes. These findings indicate that animated videos can be utilized as an effective educational medium in primary health care settings to support hypertension management.
